December 7, 2018 (Gaithersburg, MD) – AboutWeb, a leading provider of IT solutions, announced today that it has been awarded a SeaPort Next Generation (SeaPort NxG) prime contract to provide professional support services to the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.

SeaPort NxG is the Navy’s primary Multiple-Award Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract.  This SEAPORT-E follow-on contract vehicle has a five-year base and five-year option ordering period, with a potential value of $5 billion per year or $50 billion over the 10 year contract lifespan.

“We are pleased to be awarded this Prime contract, and look forward to supporting the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps professional and IT service requirements in helping to protect the country,” said AboutWeb President & CEO Robert Epstein.

Seaport NxG will provide an additional boost to AboutWeb’s award-winning AboutWeb Cares program which provides paid IT jobs and free training with Microsoft and Google certification to people from economic empowerment areas. “For every two IT professionals that we deploy to perform professional services, we are be able to take some of proceeds from that work and hire one more individual to our award-winning AboutWeb Cares program,” said Epstein.

Founded in 1998, AboutWeb is an SBA Certified HUBZone IT social enterprise company focused on Professional Services for federal agencies, commercial entities, and associations.
