AboutWeb partners with Goodwill to offer Microsoft Technology Associate Certification to Economically Disadvantaged Individuals

AboutWeb is pleased to announce that its AboutWeb Cares Division has partnered with Goodwill to offer free training for the Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) Certificate for economically disadvantaged individuals. Our first goal with the AboutWeb Cares program was to create the “technology spark” and get folks interested in IT.  “We are now moving to the next level so these underutilized individuals in our program can actually get an IT certification,” stated Robert Epstein, President & CEO of AboutWeb and Creator of the AboutWeb Cares program. “The next challenge is finding solid IT positions for these individuals since most companies are looking for folks with IT experience”.  Mr. Epstein has a solution for this: those who participate in the joint AboutWeb Cares-Goodwill program are able to gain real, paid IT work experience (completely funded by AboutWeb) at the AboutWeb Cares facility in Baltimore City, and get IT experience, which gets them one step closer to full-time employment in the IT field.
