AboutWeb employees and their children participated in this year’s TYCTWD (Take Your Child To Work Day). The day started with some basic trivia about the company and the staff. This was followed by an Hour of Coding where children were exposed to the basic concepts of programming via a fun game like experience that progressively covered commands, loops, and conditions. The children were treated to a pizza party and watched Big Hero Six; a story about a group of engineering kids who use their talent to make themselves into super heroes. In the afternoon they had play time with blocks and were challenged to build different things as a team.

We are proud for participating in this special day encouraging tomorrow’s programmers, engineers, and business leaders to explore their potential and creativity. It is in line with our company’s belief of the importance of exposing boys and girls to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects early on in their lives in a positive and fun atmosphere so they can feel excited about pursuing careers in those fields.
