Project Manager - Federal Sector (DoD)

Functional Responsibilities:

Serves as the company's single Project Manager for a large, complex federally awarded contract and shall be the company's authorized interface with the Government authorized representative, government management personnel, customer agency representatives, and subcontractors. Responsible for formulating and enforcing work standards, assigning contractor schedules, reviewing work discrepancies, supervising contractor personnel, and communicating policies, purposes, and goals of the organization to subordinates.

The Project Manager shall be responsible for the overall performance of the contract and associative deliverables, tasks, and projects. The Project Manager will plan and supervise multiple projects and/or task orders. The Project Manager controls all technical, fiscal, and administrative functions the contract. The Project Manager will direct and coordinate key project personnel in their performance to satisfy the contractual scope of work. The Project Manager will develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various IT disciplines working on the project.

Specific Responsibilities include:

· The administration and full performance of every phase of an information technology (IT) project within the specifications of a firm fixed price (FFP) contract and in a manner satisfactory to the Customer and the Company.

· Maintains line management responsibility for all functional activities associated with the execution of the contract with particular emphasis on obtaining maximum job quality, accurate cost control, compliance with schedules, and satisfactory Customer relations.

· The Project Manager is the key individual providing strategic and tactical direction to the project, focusing project resources on achieving Customer satisfaction.

· Supervises one or more project engineers and/or technical specialists assigned to the project.

· The selected individual will support monthly reviews of the financial and technical status for ongoing activities, review work performed for compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS), and act as the primary customer interface for all task order-related issues.

· The successful candidate will work with marketing, sales, and operations to develop short-term and long-term marketing and operational approaches.

Minimum Education / Experience:

· A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline.

· Fifteen (15) years of progressive experience in the development, operations, and maintenance (O&M) of systems in broad-based information technology (IT) settings involving the use of contemporary tools and techniques for information systems development and O&M, which includes five (5) years of specific experience in managing a team of network engineers, systems administrators, and help desk technicians. Must possess demonstrated ability to provide guidance and direction in tasks of varying levels of size and scope of effort; proven expertise in the management and control of funds and resources; demonstrated capability in managing multi-task contracts of this type and complexity.

· Candidates for this position will be subject to a government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. Citizenship required.

· Security+ certification required prior to commencing work.

· Experience operating in a DoD (preferably Army) IT environment is highly desired.

· Membership or affiliation with professional organizations in the engineering or technical specialty preferred.
